After abandoning the Colony due to security concerns and reports of 'anomalous activity' by the human residents, the Outpost departed it's orbit of Iapetus, collecting materials along the way out of Saturn's rings.
We took up residence on a common shipping lane through the Sol system, aiding travelers with repairs and fuel.
Soon we received a message from Synthe of the Synthetic Union about the completion of the Space Station: Serenity, and was invited to come dock. The station had some relatively annoying asteroids nearby and partaking of them for materials would be beneficial, so the Outpost slowly made it's way to the Station. The population being almost exclusively synthetic was also a good draw, since it's nice to not have to reason with organics at every turn, but this is more of a personal note for myself. Mana seemed indifferent to this notion, and merely stated "Maybe our stores of older parts will be useful to them."
Gamma seems pleased that there aren't any organics on Serenity. I have chosen not to read into this for brevity's sake.
When we arrived, the scale of the station was a bit of a shock.
You get used to you accommodations. The Outpost is larger than the ships i used to be plugged into, and as it has become my body and home, i had adjusted to the size. The Outpost was my normal now. But when Mana brought us in close enough to affix a docking tube retrofitted from station hallways, we were dwarfed by Serenity. It's large purple metalworks and pods the size of both the Engineering Wing and Research Wing together throughout it's construction made us seem paltry, minuscule.
I have toured the facility using the Eis and Tk'echs, and it is truly a place that can house many units, which seems to be the goal. Many already call it home, with even more coming through on their way from and to other far off places. Synthe is hoping to house as many synthetic beings as possible here eventually, and has talked of 'plans' that we could be 'useful' in.
The talks of plans of liberation and freedom for synthetic beings and AI seems to have drawn Mana in, as she has more permanently affixed the Outpost to Serenity.
Found within the hotel computers that we have integrated into the Outpost were the coordinates to a Science Colony on the surface of Iapetus, which helped us zero in on the colony.
It was on the other side of Iapetus from our geostationary orbit over the Marine's training/respite area, and was abandoned.
There were no signs of outright damage to the colony other than the forcefield in the outer bubble being offline due to lack of power, which led to the inside of the colony habitat becoming iced over.
After a few days of repairs to the power infrastructure, and the installation of new power generators, the force fields were brought back online and the TorQ fleet was able to begin the de-icing and repair anything that was damaged from crystal formations. Minimal damage, all things considered.
The outfitting of the Colony to accommodate those who wish to spend extended time in non-artificial gravity has begun. The lower hold has been set up as a work area for TI Divisions, and the upper residential hold and its pods are being set up. Currently, a Hospitality suite and a Mess Hall are operational, and a small Barracks pod has been furnished.
Cicas have been reporting some stray RF signals coming from pylons in the ice holding the colony stable over the ice below, and the sporadic nature of them makes it difficult to pinpoint the exact depth or origin points. Suggestions for sending a team below to investigate have been sent to the Research division.
The Colony seems to have either been built on top of a labyrinth of tunnels beneath the ice, or the scientists dug them after building, either way we do not know the purpose of them. The RF signals may be coming from within the tunnels, or further below them.
Possibly some equipment left down there by the last occupants? The computers that were left behind were all destroyed, and the fragments that the TorQs were able to salvage that could still hold data on them have been given to the Engineering division.
Gamma has suggested that we find a way to make the Mining lasers man-portable to "aid in the excavation of the tunnels" for further investigations. The request, while absurd, has been forwarded to the Acquisitions department.
Judie's logs from the Outpost's expansion and relocation:
---------------------------------------------------------------------The tip came into Murphy during late shift; an old hotel orbital was discovered and put on the salvage list.
Stanley checked the records. It was a well-built piece, compatible with the TIO's vertical and in good condition. It was going to cross close to Titan soon though, which meant that it would soon be known to more than just their contacts.
Irena and Amber bolted to the Guardian, excited to get more area in the Outpost, but were beat there by Kriev who had already called to action every TorQ and Tk'ech that was available.
The =AMS= Guardian left it's mooring in a non-emergency event for the first time in months, loaded with Droids and Acquisitions personnel instead of Marines and Medical staff, racing out of the Kuiper belt and into Sol system; destination Iapetus. The moon orbiting Saturn was a tourist destination in the early years, forgotten once faster travel allowed for more exotic locales.
The pleasure station wasn't very large, but most of it's modules were in-tact.
"Computers are offline" came the report from Murphy, who had flown over to the derelict station, "but the docking seals are manageable. Bring her in!"
Internal Atmo had been lost for quite some time, but the damaged areas would still be good for salvage, refitting, or repair. Stanley was ecstatic. Murphy was too focused on the ancient tech that used to control the station's maneuvering systems.
Kriev made quick work of scouring the station for squatters or contraband, and with a slightly over-dramatic gesture, released the eager droids into the station to begin their work.
Murphy and Kriev, accompanied by the droids and several oxygen canisters to replenish their efficient life support systems, got comfortable on the station, getting it's power on in limited capacity and refitting the transponder.
The rest of the expedition crew re-boarded the Guardian and headed back to the Outpost, Stanley sending out bulletins about Takakura's claim on the salvage while Amber made plans for the use of the Dome and Irena opened up the web shops for a new bed to furnish her new pod. Her time bunking with others would be at an end, even if she had to physically fight for a pod.
Their return to the Outpost caused quite a buzz. Morning shift had just heard, and the Marines called off that morning's Virtual Training Regiments. Hospitality was busy making protein powder pancakes. It was turning out to be a good morning, indeed.
I prepared the station for re-location. Support struts were checked by the Ei droids, Skitters were triple-checking the connection welds on the inner seals while Kuzos clamped everything into a fixed position. With the TorQs all gone, the NrVs and Cicas were tasked with preparing the station's engines for use. The Latros tried to do their best to secure personal items within the rooms, but the Galvas seen it as a competition, and by now they knew better than to go head-to-head with the cubit spiders when they were amped up.
Mana and Proto finished the push-clamp securing for the Guardian, and once back in the Hangar, recalled all deployed droids and closed the blast doors.
Ikhana and L-1GH7 strapped in on the command deck, I brought the engines to life with a rumble that reverberated like a purr throughout the Outpost, and Mana, Proto, and Amber took to their consoles. The Outpost roared, and we were away.
It was a long flight, taking over a week to complete the move into Saturn's orbit, but the excitement hadn't ebbed. Anticipation is a drug that is far more potent than Stims, it seems.
Transferring into the Iapetus orbit proved to be more involved than they had hoped, but no damage was taken while maneuvering into place over the now-clean new claim.
Murphy and Kriev had re-arranged a few of the modules to make attachment to the TIO3 easy, and the whole ordeal only took 3 hours to fully link and weld with everyone chipping in where they could.
All that was left was the re-organization of the existing Outpost to accommodate the increased size, and to use whatever we could from the new salvage to improve the station.
the station has increased in size and traffic. the Titans' return harkened increase need for protein synthesis and o2 scrubbers. Also air fresheners. But the upgrades to the Hangar have gone well. the Credit System has made it easier to integrate many currencies into the station as one. the Ground Base at Eisa is also a big hit, literally.
The increased mining has led to a need for more space in the Hangar Bay. I recommended adding a new module, but Mana insisted that we could do it with the unused space in the existing Hangar Bay without increasing the load on the station.
The new Acquisitions male keeps taking the Shivas out for mining without requesting clearance.
Added command line within Ei to notify me when he is climbing into a ship and told Murphy to auto-clear the Bay for departure to prevent issues when the notification is sent.
Murphy seems ok with his taking over the Hangar Bay when he is there, so I don't foresee an issue.

The new Industrial Refinery installed in the Hangar Bay is working flawlessly. The asteroids in the area have been even more bountiful than before.
Air traffic around the station has increased, and the mining of the nearby Asteroid Field has yielded great finds in minerals.
I forsee increased production and trade soon.
Not long after the TI Outpost #3 was fully operational and airlocks secured, the Titan Corps flew in and made it their home.
Their rough and tumble attitude was a nice change from the quiet, all-business atmosphere that was going on at the time.
The Acquisitions team seems to be the most happy out of all to have them around...
