=Don't Be A Dick (DBAD Rule)=

No one likes to go online and have to deal with jerks while trying to forget about the real world. Not even us. Don't be a jerk to anyone here at the Outpost. If no one's aim is to be a total jackass, none of us have to deal with jerks.

 

=Report Dicks=

If you come across someone that is an absolute jerk. Please let us know so we can escort them to the nearest airlock system, and show them the way off station. Report them to (Manabu2306 Resident) along with any evidence. Please follow community guidelines when submitting logs. Public conversations or disruptions are okay, private IMs are not. Make liberal use of the mute option if you're continued to be bothered in IM.

 

=Show if you're IC or OOC=

If you are in character and want to be seen as your character, please make use of any tools that are firstly ALAS Station Certified, or other tools to help distinguish you as "In Character" and which of your characters you are.

=CHARACTER SHEETS=

While not required, they are STRONGLY SUGGESTED. This prevents accusations of Godmodding, Metagaming, and Power Gaming. plus, it’s an easy way to keep track of what you do and what you learn!

 

=REGARDING MULTIPLE CHARACTERS=

Players are permitted to have multiple characters (alts), and you are not required to reveal their identity to anyone else. Avoid “cross-pollinating” information and RP details between characters you control. avoid placing your alts in situations that might be considered a conflict of interests, such as in rival factions. If it is discovered that a player is abusing alt permissions, an admin may require that the player remove the offending alt(s) from active roleplay.

 

=Multiple Character Authors – Please make it clear who you are=

If you want to change characters, they need a good reason to disappear or turn into "someone else". Change infrequently please. IE – Don't be a dick and change characters so often, or fast, that it makes NO SENSE. This will cause someone to report you as being a dick and then we'll have to deal with you.

 

=Maintain your character profiles=

Please keep up with your character profiles to make things easier on everyone.

=Original characters only for Official RP=

If you wish to RP as a copyrighted character we won't stop you but you will not be included in any official station lore or stories. Any involvement will require enough changes to your character at our discretion to be considered OC.

 

=OC is preferred and highly encouraged=

To emphasize the previous rule, we highly encourage all RP participants to use Original Characters. If you typically RP as a copyrighted character please consider modifying it enough to be considered OC. Using copyrighted characters (especially well known ones) can break other's suspension of disbelief and can be considered "uncreative" by more serious roleplayers.

 

=NO METAGAMING=

This means that using out-of-game information or resources to effect in game decisions, using information in any form that has not been shared with your character or that you have not found through legit in-character roleplay means is PROHIBITED.

 

=NO GODMODDING=

This is when someone undergoes actions that are impossible to respond to or presume/declares that his or her own action against another player character is successful without giving the other player character the freedom to act on his or her own prerogative. It is also used when someone describes hot the other character is affected, removing the player's ability to respond or poleplay properly.

 

=NO POWERGAMING=

Being the most powerful thing in the world removes the ability to have tension, strife, or struggle. If you are looking to insta-win something, then why are you bothering to roleplay? Go write fanfiction instead.

 

=NO BULLYING=

This should be a given. if they aren’t having fun, you need to stop.

 

=RESPECT FELLOW PLAYER LIMITS=

If someone does not want to play something out due to feeling uncomfortable, they have the right to decline. In this same theme, if you aren't comfortable with something, let others know. Can't fix something that no one knows is broken.

 

=CAUSE AND EFFECT=

In Character Actions = In Character Consequences. Consent is not a loop-hole to pick and choose what parts of an engaged RP you will acknowledge, and not a way to escape the consequences of your character’s actions. If it is determined that a player is abusing the consent rule to avoid the consequences of their own RP, a moderator or admin will intervene.

 

=ROLEPLAYERS HAVE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY=

While we welcome visitors, and visitors are not expected to wear OOC tags, we ask that you do not disrupt ongoing roleplay. Keep OOC chatter inside the bananas so it doesn't disrupt a scene ((and doesn't get confusing)) If RPers are being disrupted, they will ask that OOC chatter is taken to IMs or is kept to a minimum; this isn't to be rude, it's to keep the I M M E R S I O N

 

=3 STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT=

As with most anywhere, you get 3 strikes. Ignorance of the rules does not excuse breaking the rules. The first offense will receive a warning. Second gets sent home for a cool-off period. Third strike, you're banned. We reserve the right to remove anyone at any time.
