===== RACES =====
(Have a race that isn't listed? Let us know and we can add more! These are meant to be generic-ish, but we don't want anyone to think that these are the only races allowed!)
==== Celestials: Elohim (Angels) ====
Weaknesses: Infernal magic. Require pneuma to power magics. Slowest race to heal. Can not use Necromancy.
Strengths: Ability to fly. Highly resistant to emotional / psychological manipulation by non-mundane means (magics, mutations, and so forth). Immune to disease. Extremely ancient.
Lifespan: Unknown
==== Celestials: Nephilim (Demons) ====
Weaknesses: Holy magic. Require pneuma to power magics. All demons have a disease, deformity or derangement (insanity) that can not be healed. Can not use Necromancy. Inability to enter places of worship dedicated to the Lord of Hosts.
Strengths: Ability to fly. Can banish scrying in the immediate area. Extremely high pain tolerance. Extremely ancient.
Lifespan: Unknown
==== Cyborgs ====
Weaknesses: Usually have complete amnesia of their lives before becoming a cyborg, human lifespan, repairs difficult without nanites. Vulnerable to hacking, malware, software bugs, etc. May need power source. Constant, almost pathological yearning for more upgrades, more enhancements.
Strengths: Enhanced endurance. Cyborgs were originally constructed to be super-soldiers and thus, need less food and sleep than normal humans, some need no sleep at all. Additionally, they become physically fatigued much slower than a normal human. They've also been altered so that physical pain can only be felt about half as much as a normal human, allowing them to endure injuries for far longer than normal. They are immune to biological disease.
Lifespan: 100-150 years.
==== Fae ====
Strengths: Immortal unless killed with cold iron, strongest magic of all races, natural ability to change their own appearance via glamour.
Weaknesses: Cold iron does double damage. Dependent on humans for lumina. All Fae have an obsession, be it art, or movies, or setting people on fire, which can be used to distract and entice them.
Lifespan: Immortal unless killed by cold iron or by sustaining severe damage (decapitation, dismemberment, etc.). The Fae lifecycle is as such: 1-300 Young, 300-800 Adult, 800+ Grand.
==== Human ====
Weaknesses: Susceptible to disease, limited lifespan, no ability to cast magic.
Strengths: Protected by law to some extent, human spirit, Danger Sense, Lucky Ducks
==== Mutants ====
Strengths: Vary by Mutant. However, most (though not all) mutants have an 'iron stomach'. They are able to digest, and gain nutrition, from things that would not normally be nutritious to humans, or might make them sick, such as uncooked meat or moldy bread, even bits of bone if they can swallow it. It is believed this trait developed because mutants must eat more food than most in order to power their mutations.
Weaknesses: Vary by Mutant. Please specify in your sheet.
Lifespan: Human lifespan (usually)
==== Robots ====
**Strengths:** Eidetic memory, ability to be restored from backup should they be damaged. Many robots look completely human. Often have the ability to turn off various functions such as pain or unpleasant sensations. Ability to communicate with other nearby electronic devices wirelessly or through a cable, if no wireless capability is available.
**Weaknesses:** Break easily and can be fragile, with few who can repair them, Although they have Eidetic memory, robots can only safely retain approximately twenty years of data, anything more is usually archived.
**Lifespan:** Until they are broken beyond repair.
==== Shifters ====
Strengths: Exceptional physical strength. Heightened sense of smell. Can shift into animal as well as monstrous warforms. Claws do extra damage. Increased regeneration via solitary meditation. Resistance to toxins due to regeneration.
Weaknesses: Silver does increased damage to them. No control over shifting on nights of the full and new moons. Partially infertile -- can only breed with humans. Prone to losing their tempers. Less ability to become intoxicated due to fast metabolism. They can get intoxicated, they just have to drink...a lot.
Lifespan: 500-800 years.
==== Sylvani ====
Strengths: Strong legs allow them to run fast and/or jump high. Have an ability called "Veiling" which is very similar to Glamour, but which also allows them to hide in a natural setting such as a forest or field. Sylvani are also highly resistant to the element of whatever Elemental Kingdom they served (Fire, Water, Air, or Stone). Note: They are resistant, but not immune completely.
Weaknesses: They surpass even the Underkin in their lack of knowledge of the modern world. Veiling is difficult to maintain in periods of high stress or when one is injured.
Lifespan: 500 years
==== Underkin ====
Strengths: Can heighten any of their own senses at will, though only one at a time. Can live deprived of much oxygen for days (but need SOME oxygen, just not much). The Underkin can speak at a frequency which can not be heard by non-underkin ears, allowing them to communicate seemingly silently with each other if they are within vocal range. The have the ability of "glamour" just like the Fae, allowing them to look human.
Weaknesses: Direct sunlight blinds them (though the same magic interference which protects vampires protects them within the city), and the more light there is, the more impaired their vision is. Can now only breed with humans. Tend to know little about human society and technology. Tend to have a fear of open spaces.
Lifespan: Underkin can live up to 2000 years.
==== Vampires ====
Strengths: Exceptional speed. Moderately enhanced strength. Addictive/euphoric bite. Heal/regenerate by ingesting blood. Immortality (very hard to kill -- regenerate by drinking blood). They have magical powers of persuasion called the Voice, which makes non-vampires more succeptible, but not does not completely compel them, to doing their bidding. The weaker willed the race to person, the easier the Voice can manipulate them. It is powerless against Wraiths and Elohim.
Weaknesses: Must drink blood regularly. Sunlight burns them quickly (protected from such inside the city walls). Three times as much damage from fire. Must leave a personal dwelling if permission is clearly and verbally revoked. They do not have to be invited in, but must leave if permission is revoked. May not enter a church or temple, as these are the "personal dwellings" of the divine, and they have not been granted permission. All vampires are repelled by a symbol with deep meaning, be it a cross, an anarchy symbol, a zodiac symbol, etc. Vampire society is very strict, because of the blood shortage. Rogues are regularly hunted down and killed, and punishments are handed out liberally for those who break laws.
Lifespan: Immortal (Unless killed through very specific means)
==== Wraiths ====
Strengths: Destruction of their "bodies" doesn't kill them. Immune to disease, hunger, etc, though their bodies may not be. Resistance (but not immunity) to mental magics.
Weaknesses: A wraith who loses his grip on his mind may lose control of his body. Thus, things which cause insanity, psychological, or spiritual trauma are of special concern to the Wraiths.
Lifespan: Virtually immortal.
==== Yokai ====
Strengths: Calligramancy -- Although they are weak to the effects of Calligramancy, they are extremely adept at casting it. (Effects last longer/are easier to cast.) Can remake their Kagami form with the use of a mirror. Have the power of "forgetting", the ability to make a person forget an event which has happened within the last day -- like seeing/meeting a Yokai. They may only use this once on each different person during a moon cycle, and the Yokai must know details about the event they want the person to forget. Yokai are immune to possession. (They have two souls. Stuffing a third in there is impossible.)
Weaknesses: They are weak to the magic of Calligramancy. Magic is weaker in Kagami form, extremely superstitious. Often are a bit culturally shell-shocked when they leave Japan for the first time.
Lifespan: Immortal in that they dont age, but can still be killed by magic. Yokai can live up to 1000 years and are reincarnated.
==== Ayer ====
Strengths: Intuition, Morphing, Physical Strength, stronger than the average Human Weaknesses: Endurance Decreases as abilities are used, greatly if used rapidly, At Rest Inabilities, Affinities Lifespan: On average about 180 Earth Years (6 generations of humans)
